Happy Birthday Edith Head

"A designer is only as good as the star who wears her clothes" ~ Edith Head
One of her most iconic sketches for the film A Place in the Sun, starring Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift.
Costume designer at work. I love this fabric, I wonder what film she was working on here.
Last but not least, her sketch for Sabrina. Every girl dreams of owning a dress like this one day.

Edith Head is one of the most recognized and beloved costume designers who was active during "the Golden age of Hollywood", she was nominated for 35 academy awards and won eight for films like A Place in the Sun, All About Eve, Roman Holiday and Sabrina to name a few. Today, Edith Head would have been 115 years old, Happy Birthday to her and her legacy.

It's a Audrey Hepburn kinda day

One of my favorite posters for Roman Holiday. Updated version.
Italian poster for Sabrina. It looks like a fashion magazine cover.
Gotta love this Spanish poster for Funny Face. Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn were so good together. I can watch this film over and over again.

This morning I woke up feeling sick. It must be the crazy weather in Santa Monica. First it's super hot, then it starts to rain. I don't get it. I decided to stay in this morning and watch some classic Audrey Hepburn films. I hate to sound cliche, but these are some of my favorite films. They never fail to put a smile on my face on days like today. All I need now is a box of macarons from Bottega Louie and a cup of jasmine tea.
